The Russian Defense Ministry revealed three attempted drone attacks by Kiev on eastern regions in Russia, two of which were thwarted, Sputnik reported.
The Ministry of Defense and Moscow Mayor announced that the Ukraine terrorist drone attack that targeted Moscow was thwarted.
“This morning, air defense forces thwarted yet another attempt of the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack on the territory of the Russian Federation using an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
“Today, air defense forces near Lyubertsy thwarted another attempt by a drone to fly to Moscow. Preliminarily, there were no casualties or damage. Emergency services are working at the scene of the incident,” Moscow Mayor said.
On his part, the Kursk regional governor reported damage in an administrative building and a residential building after the drone attack.
“In the morning, two Ukrainian drones attacked Kurchatov. An administrative building and a residential building were damaged. Experts… are assessing the extent of the damage. Details are being specified,” Kursk Governor Roman Starovoit said on Telegram.
The Ministry of Defense announced in another statement that another drone attack was thwarted in Belgorod.
“This morning, at about 07:30 Moscow time [04:30 GMT], another attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack by an aircraft-type UAV on objects on the territory of Russia was thwarted,” the Ministry said in a statement, adding that it was “destroyed by on-duty air defense systems over the territory of the Belgorod Region.”
On August 30, the Russian military repelled a drone attack in the early hours of the morning on an airport in the northwestern city of Pskov.
On August 29, the Russian Defense Ministry announced taht air defenses had taken down a Ukrainian drone over Belogorod and also prevented border violations by two US-made UAVs near the Black Sea.
On August 28, Russian air defenses shot down two Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk Region.
On August 26, a drone approached Moscow and was shot down by anti-air systems. The attempted attack resulted in no casualties or damages, the city’s Mayor said
