Egypt is in close contact with the Israeli and Palestinian leadership to achieve the de-escalation of the situation, Egyptian broadcaster reported on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry called on both sides to exercise restraint and avoid endangering civilians.
