Residents picking through the remains of a destroyed bakery in the Moghrabi refugee camp in Deir el-Balah were hit by another deadly blast.
Men ran through rubble-strewn streets carrying wounded people with at least one person killed, according to an Associated Press reporter at the scene.
The initial Israeli air raid on the bakery and neighbouring houses killed at least 10 people, Gaza’s media office said. It was the only bakery in the area and just received flour from the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
Resident Asad al-Bairoti described the attack on the bakery by Israeli warplanes when he looked to the sky and then ducked as a projectile whistled overhead, followed by two bangs.
