In a tweet, Hanke Bruins Slot voiced deep concern “about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza and people and children need urgent medical care”.
The top diplomat added: “We are discussing with international partners the possibility of accepting sick and wounded Palestinian children in the Netherlands”.
A handful of wounded Gaza residents have been allowed to cross into Egypt for treatment.
However, even if they were allowed to cross through, health officials in Gaza say thousands of patients remain trapped in the north with no means of evacuating as Israel’s military has encircled health facilities.
