Two children and a photojournalist were shot and injured by Israeli occupation forces this evening after the latter attacked families of Palestinian detainees who were awaiting the release of their beloved ones in front of the Ofer military prison in Beitunia, west of Ramallah.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that two children, aged 16 and 12, were injured by live bullets in front of the Ofer military prison, adding they were evacuated to hospital.
Meanwhile, local sources reported that a photojournalist was injured by a rubber-coated metal bullet in his leg.
Since the afternoon, a number of citizens, and families of female and minor detainees gathered in front of the entrance of the Ofer military prison, to receive their daughters and sons who are scheduled to be released as part of a swap deal.
The Israeli occupation will release 39 detainees, including 24 women and 15 children, as the first batch of the exchange deal, according to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission.
The released prisoners will be handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross at the Ofer military prison, which in turn will transfer them to Beitunia Municipality, where their families are awaiting their release.
