Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan expressed optimism about the growing ties between Riyadh and Tehran, emphasizing the anticipation for the official visit of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, to Saudi Arabia.
“We are still waiting for the official bilateral visit of Dr. Raisi, the President of Islamic Republic of Iran to Saudi Arabia,” stated the Saudi foreign minister.
During a telephone conversation, the Iranian Foreign Minister his Saudi counterpart discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Palestine.
Amirabdollahian highlighted the visit of a Saudi parliamentary delegation to Iran, the visit of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Mine delegation to Saudi Arabia, and meetings between the heads of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization and the Saudi Minister of Hajj. He noted that political relations between the two countries are expanding based on the agreement between the President of Iran and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
Referring to the agreement on sending Iranians to Hajj Umrah, Amirabdollahian discussed the delay in the implementation of this issue and explored potential solutions with his Saudi counterpart.
