The three Palestinian citizens of Israel have met King Abdullah amid concerns that Israeli authorities will further tighten restrictions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound as the Muslim holy month of Ramadan nears.
Ayman Odeh, the head of the predominantly Arab Hadash-Ta’al alliance; party chairperson Ahmad Tibi; and MK Youssef Atauna travelled to Amman and asked the Jordanian monarch to intervene to ensure freedom of worship at the compound.
“His majesty says Jordan will continue to push for an end to the war on Gaza and the provision of humanitarian relief and medical aid by land and air to the strip,” a readout by the royal court said.
