The foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt weighed plans to help the Palestinian people and put an end to the Israeli regime’s onslaught on the Gaza Strip.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry held a meeting on the sidelines of the 15th edition of the Islamic Summit of Heads of State and Governments of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Gambia on Saturday.
The two diplomats talked about a range of regional issues, including the war on Gaza.
Appreciating Egypt’s efforts to stop the Israeli regime’s genocidal crimes in Gaza, Amirabdollahian expressed Iran’s readiness to deliver humanitarian aid supplies into the Palestinian enclave with the help of Egypt.
For his part, Shoukry decried the Zionist regime’s massacre of Palestinian civilians and the extensive damages caused by seven months of onslaught against Gaza.
The Egyptian foreign minister also expressed hope that the ongoing political efforts and negotiations would end the war against Gaza and help restore the rights of Palestinians.
The two foreign ministers finally expressed hope that the OIC summit in the Gambia would strengthen Muslim unity in support of Palestine and contribute to the settlement of regional problems.
At least 34,654 Palestinians have been killed and 77,908 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
