The director of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) Cindy McCain, today confirmed that there is a comprehensive famine in the northern Gaza Strip that might spread to south.
McCain confirmed, according to a report published on the organization’s official website, that the population in the Gaza Strip suffers from severe food shortages and food insecurity after seven months of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
She indicated that her statements come based on what the program saw on the ground, adding, “There is real horror, and it is very difficult to look at or hear it, hoping that a ceasefire will be reached.”
Humanitarian organizations have warned for months that the Israeli aggression against Gaza has pushed the Strip towards the brink of famine.
