Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Igor Sergeyenko, praised the historical Palestinian-Belarusian relations, stressing that his country stands by the Palestinian cause in all international forums.
Sergeyenko’s statements came during his meeting today with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Belarus, Ahmad Al-Mazbouh, at the Parliament headquarters in the center of the capital, Minsk.
Sergeyenko expressed his appreciation for the active role of the Embassy of the State of Palestine and its effective contribution to the development of Belarusian-Palestinian relations, stressing the importance of the detailed reports that the embassy continuously sends about the latest developments and events in Palestine.
He affirmed his country’s principled position to resolve conflicts through dialogue and in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, adding that “based on this principle, the Republic of Belarus votes in all international forums in favor of Palestine as a just issue and its solution is achieved through the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions.”
Sergeyenko also expressed his hope for an urgent and quick solution to stop the Israeli massacres committed against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Mazbouh reviewed the political and field developments on the Palestinian scene, and focused on the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army in the Gaza Strip.
He stressed the importance of preserving the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA), pointing to its great role in alleviating the suffering of Palestinian people in Gaza and in all places of asylum.
Al-Mazbouh pointed out that the United Nations included Israel on the “black list” of countries and organizations that kill children, calling for a boycott of the occupying state and stopping dealings and commercial and academic exchange with it, stressing the importance of collective action in order to stop the war of genocide and bring urgent aid into the Gaza Strip.
