Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, met today with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in Ramallah, where they discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian Territory and ways to stop the Israel aggression on the Palestinian people and strengthen the relief effort in the Gaza Strip.
Mustafa stressed that the implementation of the latest UN Security Council resolution 2735 is a good start to reach a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip.
He underscored the importance of further joint efforts to stop all actions and incursions of the occupation and colonists’ attacks in the West Bank.
The Prime Minister renewed affirmation that the government has never left the Gaza Strip, and has been responsible for providing it with all services since the establishment of the National Authority.
Mustafa stressed that Israel’s ongoing withholding and deduction of Palestinian tax revenues threaten the government’s ability to meet its obligations, calling on Germany to support the government to ensure the continued provision of services in vital sectors such as health and education.
They also discussed ways to support the government’s efforts in the institutional reform program and enhance cooperation, especially through the Joint Ministerial Committee which covers the political, economic and development projects.
For her part, the German Foreign Minister stressed the importance of continuing the joint American, European and Arab efforts to reach a solution to the conflict and achieve the two-state solution.
She emphasized her country’s ongoing efforts to release the withheld Palestinian funds.
