Syria and United Arab Emirates discussed on Thursday the bilateral relations in several fields, in addition to various regional and international issues.
As a part of his visit to Emirates, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad met on Thursday UAE Foreign Affairs Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Minister Mikdad conveyed President Bashar al-Assad greetings to UAE President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, and Syria’s gratitude for humanitarian aid provided by Emirates after the earthquake hit some Syrian provinces.
In turn, Minister Abdullah bin Zayed wished Syria security, stability, continued development and prosperity.
Both sides discussed the bilateral relations in various fields, the issues and challenges facing the region in general, in addition to issues related to international situation and its repercussions on the situation in the Middle East.
The two ministers agreed to continue their contacts and consultations as a part of joint keenness to meet the aspirations of the two countries and peoples.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Habib Abbas and a number of officials.
