Former U.S. President Donald Trump reassured his supporters that he is unharmed following a shooting incident near his golf course in Palm Beach, Florida. The shooting occurred on Sunday, and Trump’s campaign team confirmed his safety.
In a message to his donors, Trump said, “I am safe and well.” He continued, “Gunshots rang out around me. Before rumors spread, I want you to hear this first: I am fine and secure. Nothing will stop me. I will never give up.”
Sources confirmed that Trump remained unharmed. They reported that the shots came from outside the golf course’s perimeter. According to the Associated Press, Secret Service agents fired their weapons after spotting an armed individual near the course. Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the incident.
CNN reported that William Schneider, the Martin County Sheriff, said local police arrested a suspect related to the shooting. The suspect had been sought by authorities in Palm Beach County.
This incident highlights the challenges Trump has faced recently. On July 13, an assassination attempt injured Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. This occurred just months before the high-stakes November 5 election, where Trump is expected to face strong competition from Vice President Kamala Harris.
Despite these challenges, Trump’s campaign team remains focused on the upcoming election. They emphasize that such incidents will not deter their efforts. As the election nears, both candidates are preparing for a contentious race, underscoring the charged atmosphere leading up to November.
