The Israeli Security Cabinet decided on Wednesday evening to deliver a harsh response to Iran following the missile attack that took place the previous night. Iran launched 180 missiles at Israel, leading to air raid sirens sounding throughout the country and the closure of Israeli airspace.
Nature of the Response Under Discussion
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, political and security discussions are ongoing to determine the nature of Israel’s response. Political sources indicated that the response would be severe, but emphasized that it would not lead to a regional war with Iran.
Israeli Air Force and International Cooperation
The Israeli Air Force reported that no civilians, soldiers, or aircraft were harmed in the Iranian missile attack. It stressed that retaliatory action against Iran should be taken based on a planned strategy rather than out of a sense of vengeance.
The United States, France, and other allied nations worked as a defensive coalition to help Israel intercept the barrage of ballistic missiles launched by Iran. According to the Wall Street Journal, the missiles did not impair the efficiency of the Israeli Air Force.
Israel’s Warning to Iran
The Wall Street Journal also reported that Israel recently sent messages to Iran through Arab countries, warning that any future attack could lead to retaliation targeting Iran’s nuclear and oil facilities.
