Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf affirmed on Saturday that Iran’s leadership stands firmly alongside Lebanon and Hezbollah in all circumstances. His remarks came during a one-day visit to Beirut, after which he will travel to Geneva.
In a press conference held in the Lebanese capital, Ghalibaf conveyed a message from Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian, stating, “We stand with Lebanon.” He emphasized Iran’s readiness to provide Lebanon with the necessary aid, including assistance for those displaced by the ongoing conflict in the region.
“We will support all decisions made by the Lebanese government, resistance, and Hezbollah,” Ghalibaf added.
He further mentioned that he would head to Geneva to raise the issues of both the Lebanese and Palestinian people during the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting.
Ghalibaf’s visit follows a recent trip by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Lebanon. According to local reports, Ghalibaf is scheduled to meet with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, as well as several Lebanese lawmakers and party leaders.
