According to a report by the Disaster Risk Management Unit in the Lebanese Cabinet, the death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon has reached 2,418 since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah began on October 8, 2023. The report highlights the devastating impact of the ongoing airstrikes, which have also resulted in 11,336 injuries to date.
The report, released on Friday, detailed that six people were killed and 69 others injured in Israeli air raids within the past 24 hours alone. A total of 87 Israeli airstrikes were recorded during this period, with most of the attacks concentrated in southern Lebanon, an area that has been heavily targeted throughout the conflict.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military reported that Hezbollah launched approximately 75 rockets and shells into northern Israel on Friday. Additionally, two drones from Lebanon were intercepted before crossing into Israeli airspace. The Israeli military also claimed that about 60 Hezbollah fighters had been killed in airstrikes and confrontations near the border over the last 24 hours.
The intensifying violence in Lebanon is contributing to growing fears of a prolonged and destructive conflict. With the humanitarian toll rising, international organizations have called for immediate measures to halt the bloodshed and provide aid to affected civilians.
