The Iranian army announced today, Saturday, that two of its soldiers were killed in early morning Israeli attacks on Iran. According to Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian military reported the loss of two soldiers who died while “defending Iran’s security and protecting the people and national interests” against projectiles launched by “the criminal Zionist regime.”
The agency also mentioned that more details would be disclosed soon.
In a prior statement from Iran’s Air Defense Headquarters, officials indicated that the “illegitimate and criminal Zionist entity” attacked parts of military facilities in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces. The Iranian air defense successfully intercepted the attack, though limited damage was reported. Authorities are investigating the extent of the incident.
The statement urged citizens to rely on national media for updates and to disregard “rumors from hostile media outlets.”
Earlier today, the Israeli military announced that approximately 100 Israeli fighter jets conducted three waves of strikes on Iran, reportedly targeting 20 sites within the country. However, a source cited by Tasnim dismissed this figure as exaggerated, calling it “psychological warfare.” The source also clarified that the attacks were conducted from outside Iranian borders and that the claims of 100 aircraft being involved were unsubstantiated.
