Turkish Delegation to Syria to Discuss Electricity Crisis Solution
Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that a delegation from the ministry will soon visit Syria to assess the electricity and energy infrastructure and discuss issues of cooperation and assistance.
He stated, “The primary issue regarding energy in Syria is electricity… and a formula will be formulated to solve this problem.”
Bayraktar added that the delegation will conduct inspections of the electricity and energy infrastructure in Syria. Additionally, the Turkish delegation will discuss energy cooperation with the new Syrian government and potential Turkish aid in this regard.
Syria is grappling with a severe electricity crisis, with power outages lasting over 20 hours a day. Most residents rely on alternative energy sources like solar power and generators for electricity.
It is noted that Turkey currently supplies electricity to some parts of northern Syria.
