Turkey Accelerates Efforts to Revive Trade with New Syrian Administration
Turkish Commerce Minister Omar Bolat has affirmed that they are preparing at an accelerated pace to revive trade with Syria and assist its new administration in rebuilding the country following the fall of the Assad regime.
Speaking at a local event on Friday, Bolat stated that Turkey’s exports to Syria were previously unrestricted except for some products, reaching nearly two billion dollars in value.
He added that Turkish industrialists, investors, and exporters would collaborate to help the new Syrian administration in revitalizing the nation.
The Turkish minister noted that one of the priority issues is to increase trade with Syria.
He continued, “Preparations in Turkey are ongoing swiftly regarding the restoration of trade momentum with Syria.”
Bolat further elaborated, “Our customs systems are being prepared… and the department dealing with Syria in the ministry is working around the clock.”
