Israeli Minister: Jerusalem’s Gates Will Reach Damascus’s Gates
In a highly controversial move, Israeli Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque today with groups of settlers, where he performed prayers in the tunnels beneath the mosque.
Karhi stated, “I prayed today in the tunnels under the Western Wall Plaza and prayed for the return of all the captives.”
Referencing Jewish religious texts, Karhi proclaimed, “The future of Jerusalem’s gates that light our path is to reach Damascus’s gates.”

Our correspondent reported that settlers engaged in dances and performed Talmudic rituals during the incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque on the fourth day of Hanukkah.
Since 2003, Israel has periodically allowed settlers into Al-Aqsa without the approval of the Islamic Waqf, which has since called for an end to these incursions, viewing them as violations of the established legal and historical status.
Earlier on Thursday, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during the first days of the Jewish festival of lights, or Hanukkah, to pray.
Ben-Gvir’s office issued a statement saying, “He ascended to the Temple Mount to celebrate Hanukkah, praying for the safety of our soldiers, the return of the hostages, both living and dead, and for total victory in the war.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office commented on Ben-Gvir’s entry into the holy site, stating, “The current situation on the Temple Mount has not changed,” referring to Al-Aqsa Mosque by the name used by Israel.
