Russia and China Advocate for a Multipolar Global System
In a significant video conference held on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the comprehensive strengthening of relations between Russia and China, aligning with the developmental goals of both nations.
Putin highlighted the crucial role that the foreign policy relations between Russia and China play in maintaining global stability. He addressed Chinese President Xi Jinping, stating, “I agree with you that the foundation of cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is a broad spectrum of national interests and a convergence of views on the nature of relations among major powers. We build our relationship on friendship, mutual trust, support, and mutual benefit.”
The Russian leader pointed out that both countries are calling for the construction of a more equitable, multipolar global system. He noted Russia’s pivotal role in energy supply, saying, “Russia has become the primary supplier of natural gas to China.” He elaborated on the Power of Siberia pipeline, which was launched five years ago, positioning Russia as the top natural gas exporter to China.
Putin also emphasized the ongoing collaboration in ensuring indivisible security in Eurasia and globally.
On his part, President Xi Jinping confirmed the continuous growth in bilateral trade between
China and Russia, indicating a steady upward trajectory in their economic partnership.
