Putin Holds Phone Call with Syrian Transitional President Ahmed Al-Sharaa
Russian President Vladimir Putin conducted a telephone conversation with Ahmed Al-Sharaa, the transitional President of Syria, as reported by the Kremlin via the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
According to the Kremlin, during this conversation, Putin reaffirmed Russia’s principled stance in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also expressed Russia’s ongoing readiness to assist in improving Syria’s social and economic conditions, including providing humanitarian aid to its people.
Previously, Al-Sharaa had welcomed negotiations with Russia, a significant ally to the ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
