In recent days, the movement of unaccompanied children and separated families has been observed in the humanitarian corridor by the UN staff on the ground.
According to a UN statement, one such case was documented over the past week, and it included a child who had to cross through the checkpoint on his own following his father’s arrest at the checkpoint.
The team registered his details, and another family took him to a shelter where the administration works to protect these children, in anticipation of their reunification with their families, said the statement.
