In a phone conversation this evening, President Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi discussed the latest developments in Palestine, particularly the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip.
President Abbas emphasized the urgent need to halt the genocidal war against our people, stressing the importance of expediting the delivery of humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, preventing displacement, and stopping the Israeli escalation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
The President expressed gratitude and appreciation to President el-Sisi and the people of Egypt for their steadfast support for the just Palestinian cause. He commended Egypt’s efforts to mobilize international consensus to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, support Palestine’s efforts to gain full membership in the United Nations, and garner further recognitions of the State of Palestine.
Additionally, President Abbas thanked Egypt for its assistance to the people of Gaza, wishing the Egyptian people continued progress and prosperity, and President el-Sisi good health and well-being.
President el-Sisi, in turn, reiterated Egypt’s firm positions toward–and support for–the Palestinian people and their just cause, as well as its intensive efforts to halt the Israeli aggression on Gaza and support the Palestinians in obtaining their legitimate rights.
He affirmed that Egypt is exerting all efforts and engaging with all international and regional parties to halt the aggression against the Palestinian people, provide humanitarian aid, and prevent displacement.
