According to Yemeni media, U.S. and U.K. forces launched airstrikes targeting Yemen’s Hodeidah province, an area under Houthi control. The strikes followed heavy aerial surveillance over several provinces.
Houthi-aligned media reported that early Monday airstrikes also targeted the provinces of Amran and Saada, with seven airstrikes hitting Harf Sufyan district in Amran and two others impacting Rahba area in Saada’s Safra district.
On Sunday, U.S. and U.K. forces reportedly struck the “Jarban Camp” in Sanhan district, southeast of Sanaa, a site used by Houthi missile forces alongside Iranian Revolutionary Guard experts. The Hafa Camp in southern Sanaa was also targeted for the second time within hours. This same camp faced attacks from U.S. B-2 stealth bombers in mid-October.
Houthi forces continue to launch attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, framing these as acts of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas. Since the start of these operations, more than 100 attacks have resulted in four deaths and the sinking of two ships, while one vessel remains held by Houthi forces along with its crew.
These Houthi assaults have led some shipping companies to reroute around South Africa to avoid the Red Sea, a critical passage for 12% of global trade. In response, Washington has established an international maritime coalition to secure this strategic region.
