Egypt Grants Citizenship to a New Batch of Syrians
Egyptian authorities have issued two new decrees granting Egyptian citizenship to 15 Syrians, as published in the Egyptian Official Gazette.
The Official Gazette published two new decrees by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, granting Egyptian citizenship to 15 Syrians and three others from Libya, Yemen, and Bangladesh.
Decree No. 4480 of 2024 by the Egyptian Prime Minister approves the granting of Egyptian citizenship to individuals including: Abdel Rahman Abdul Ghafour Abdul Daim from Homs, Abdul Basit Mohammed Adel Tarqgi from Aleppo, Ibrahim Ismail Junaid from Aleppo, Ahmad Mohammed Said Makrsh from Aleppo, Nadira Sulaiman Talas Farzat from Homs, Fares Awf Mohammed Tarek from Damascus, and Waddah Abdul Raouf Samman from Latakia.

to: Mohammed Ahmad Al-Muhsen, Saleh Mohammed Aziza from Aleppo, Ahmad Mohammed
Aziza, Seim Samir Karim, Abdel Hadi Abdel Rahman Hamawi, all born in Aleppo, Syria, and
Mohammed Mohammed Yassin, Radwan Mohammed Yassin Zarzour, and Louay Mohammed
Yahia Al-Sharif, all born in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Last October, Egypt granted citizenship to 19 individuals, including 12 Syrians from various
provinces, according to decrees published in the Egyptian Official Gazette on Thursday, October 17.
The number of registered Syrian refugees in Egypt stands at 158,000 according to the latest s
tatistics released by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
The rate of Syrian migration to Egypt increased after the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in
2011 due to the ease of entering the country without a pre-arranged visa, making Egypt a
destination for many Syrian businessmen and investors.
