Jordan’s foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart on Friday discussed increased Israeli aggression in the occupied West Bank as well as measures to end hostilities in Gaza. Ayman Safadi and Abbas Araghchi spoke over the phone, Jordan News Agency reported. During their conversation, Safadi emphasized that halting Israeli aggression in Gaza was the first step in preventing a regional war. Israel has brought to the West Bank “systematic brutality” carried out in Gaza, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Friday. “Israel is not only committing genocide in Gaza, but it is now extending this war to the West Bank, Lebanon, and potentially other nations it deems as enemies which we cannot know or predict,” Fidan said at a joint press conference with his Slovenian counterpart in Ljubljana. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to award the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, Russia’s highest award, to his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, who turns 70 on Friday.
