His Excellency Marshal Mehdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, visited Al-Madan and Shaharah directorates in Amran Governorate. During the visit, President Al-Mashat received well-wishers from citizens for Eid Al-Adha Al-Mubarak.
President Al-Mashat has directed Amran Governor and Government with provisions of basic services to citizens with available means, and encouraging the operational initiatives of the community.
His Excellency expressed thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the honourable attitudes of Al-Madan in the face of the United States-Saudi aggression, the sacrifices of martyrs for God’s sake, and the defence of the homeland, sovereignty and independence.
President Al-Mashat also visited the historic city of Shahara, one of Yemen’s most famous cities and was the capital of Al-Qasimi State and its starting point, which had faced occupation for many centuries, and had defeated the invading forces.
The President visited the historic Shahrah Bridge and acknowledged about the qualitative and unique architectural design of the Arabian Island-wide Bridge in terms of precision, composition, construction, appropriate construction and severe mountainous and rocky nature. It is the most important feature of Shahrah City, which connects two towering mountains, namely, Shaharah Al-Ameer with Shahrah Al-Feish .”
During the visit, His Excellency the President of the Supreme Political Council stressed the importance of preserving this historic landmark of the Republic of Yemen. As one of the most outstanding historical monuments and a tourist attraction with distinction, visitors learn about the creativity and mastery of the ancient Yemeni engineer.
Subsequently, His Excellency the President of the Republic visited the mosque and shrine of Imam Qassim bin Muhammad in Shaharah District, and practiced Friday prayers with the masses of Shahrah citizens. Imam Qassim bin Mohammed is one of the Yemeni leaders who faced invasion and occupation.
After the prayer, His Excellency Mahdi Al-Mashat exchanged the Eid congratulations with the crowds of citizens, listening to their concerns and discussing their issues and needs. Then he directed the National Rescue Government and the local authority of Amran governorate to work towards its resolution.
Citizens expressed their pleasure at this first historical visit, as President Al-Mashat is the first Yemeni President to visit the two directorates.
During the visit, he was accompanied by the Chief of General Staff, Major General Mohammed Abdulkareem Al-Ghammari, Commander of the Fifth Military Region, Major General Youssef Al-Madani, Governor of Amran, Dr. Faisal Jammaan, and a number of leaders, officials and social figures.
