The southern governorates witnessed angry public protests and blocked roads against the collapse of the currency, deteriorating living conditions and the disruption of public services.
Local sources said angry demonstrations took place in Aden, Hadramawt and Abyan governorates to protest against the catastrophic deterioration of the local currency in front of foreign exchange, the lack of services, and primarily electricity.
Demonstrators had burned tyres and blocked streets in rejection of the policy of starvation and economic war targeting citizens. They condemned the continued collapse of the local currency and rising food and consumer prices.
The coming hours will see the outbreak of angry protests and demonstrations and a total strike on shops in all governorates that under the control of the Alliance and legitimacy to protest against the collapse of the Yemeni Riyal and the crazy price rise.
The disgraceful silence of Yemen’s pro-coalition and legitimate political parties over the historical collapse of the Yemeni Riyal in front of foreign exchange, the rising prices of food, staples, transport and oil derivatives, the lack of services and the policy of starvation to which citizens are subjected.
As the head of the national delegation, Mohamed Abdulsalam, said: ‘The economic collapse in the occupied areas of our country is a natural consequence of aggression, blockade and conflict between a different agenda sponsored and encouraged by foreigners. The economic collapse in the occupied areas is the result of widespread corruption, waste of revenues and arbitrary actions that have been perpetuated by the aggression States and their mercenaries.
Abdulsalam said: “What our country’s economy needs to reduce the suffering of our Yemeni people is to allocate oil and gas revenues to address the economic problems of people, primarily salaries, and to keep everything related to the economic situation away from political blackmail to achieve military or political objectives. The forces of aggression must cease all arbitrary actions targeting the Yemeni people and affecting the most important requirements of their lives.
