The father of Swiss beauty queen Kristina Goksimovic, who was murdered by her husband, found her severed head in a trash bag. Kristina, aged 38, was killed by her husband, Mark Ripen, who dismembered her in February.
Murder Details
According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, Kristina’s father discovered the head when he noticed blond hair emerging from a black trash bag in the laundry room. Upon opening the bag, he found his daughter’s severed head inside.
Events Leading to Discovery
The father had been staying at Kristina’s home in Binningen, near Basel, Switzerland, unaware that Mark had used a chainsaw, knife, and garden shears to dismember Kristina in the laundry room. Mark had also blended parts of her body and dissolved them in acid, as reported by the Blick newspaper.
Kristina’s father remained oblivious to the horrific events, having dinner with his grandchildren and conversing with Mark Ripen, 41.
Initial Suspicion and Investigation
The alarm was first raised when Kristina’s parents were asked by a kindergarten to pick up their grandchildren. Mark insisted he didn’t know Kristina’s whereabouts, claiming she sometimes left without notice. Kristina’s mother wanted to report her missing to the police, but insufficient time led her husband to search the house while she distracted Mark.
Finding the Evidence
Upon reaching the laundry room, Kristina’s father saw blond hair strands and opened the bag to discover the severed head. A family friend recounted that the father ran outside, screaming, and asked a passerby to call the police before returning to confront Mark, who seemed shocked that the body parts had been discovered.
Mark’s Reaction and Arrest
Mark reportedly showed no emotion regarding the discovery, merely noting that Kristina’s parents had said they would be away briefly. Police arrested Mark the following day after finding the remains of Kristina’s body and notified the authorities.
