Several international airlines have announced the suspension of flights to Israel on Tuesday, following Hezbollah’s vow to retaliate for the “Pager Bombings.”
Air France Cancels Flights
According to Israeli media, Air France has canceled flights between Paris and Tel Aviv for 48 hours due to heightened security concerns.
Lufthansa Group Suspends Flights
The Lufthansa Group also declared a suspension of all flights to and from Tel Aviv and Tehran. The airline stated in an official release that its flights will bypass Israeli and Iranian airspace until September 19, citing rising security threats in the region. The company added that it will continue to assess the situation over the coming days.
Swiss International and Brussels Airlines Follow Suit
Swiss International Air Lines and Brussels Airlines also delayed their flights to Israel for the next 48 hours.
Hezbollah Response to Bombings
These decisions come in response to recent “Pager Bombings” that took place across various parts of Lebanon. The explosions resulted in the deaths of nine people and left around 2,800 injured.
Hezbollah issued a statement holding Israel “fully responsible” for the blasts and vowed that the “enemy will face just retribution.”
