In an official statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry shared that Abdel Aty conveyed directives from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to promptly reach out to Lebanon and express Egypt’s unwavering support.
Commitment to Lebanon’s Security

Warning Against Regional Escalation
Additionally, Abdel Aty warned of the dangers of escalating tensions in the region, cautioning that such developments could lead to a full-scale regional war. He emphasized that the recent events in southern Lebanon are clear signs of a dangerous turning point, driven by reckless and irresponsible actions, which could have far-reaching consequences for the region’s stability.

The Egyptian foreign minister also highlighted the urgent need to prevent further escalation. He called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, a halt to Israeli attacks in the West Bank, and swift agreements to secure the release of hostages and prisoners. Abdel Aty underscored the importance of ensuring full, unconditional access to humanitarian and medical aid in Gaza.
