Who Congratulated Donald Trump on His 2024 Presidential Victory?
Leaders and heads of state congratulated Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, on securing victory in the 2024 US presidential election against his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris.
Trump declared his win against Harris early Wednesday. At the time of his announcement, he had secured 267 electoral votes compared to Harris’s 214.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, were quick to send their congratulations to Trump. In a post on the platform “X” directed at the new President of the United States and his wife Melania, Netanyahu wrote: “Congratulations on the greatest comeback in history.”
He added that “the historic return to the White House signifies a new beginning for America and a strong reaffirmation of the great alliance between Israel and America. This is a tremendous victory.”
French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Trump on his win for the U.S. presidency, stating on “X”: “Congratulations to Trump on his victory.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose country is at war with Russia, also extended his
congratulations to the 47th President of the United States.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, remarked that
“Trump’s victory in the American elections represents a blow to Ukraine.”
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated Trump, expressing hopes for enhanced cooperation to achieve peace and security in the region.
Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed his desire for the continuation of
partnership between Qatar and the United States on regional security issues.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi conveyed his congratulations and expressed his
eagerness to work with Trump for peace and stability in the region.
In his speech to supporters in Florida, Trump stated, “I will not start any wars but will stop them,
and we want a strong military.”
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also congratulated Trump, saying on “X”: “Your leadership
will be key to maintaining the strength of our alliance.”
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “I congratulate my friend Trump.”
