Ronaldo Leads Al Nassr Back to Winning Ways in Saudi Pro League
In a swift return to form, Al Nassr reclaimed their winning streak in the Saudi Pro League with a convincing 3-1 victory over hosts Al Khaleej on Tuesday, in the 16th round of the Roshn League.
The credit for this win largely goes to Al Nassr’s Portuguese captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted the first and third goals in the 65th and 90+8th minutes, respectively. Sultan Al-Ghannam scored the second goal in the 82nd minute, sealing the victory for Al Nassr.
Al Khaleej’s only goal came from a penalty kick scored by Greek player Konstantinos Fortounis in
the 80th minute. The match dynamics shifted when Al Khaleej’s player, Saeed Al Hamshl, was
sent off in the 34th minute, leaving his team with ten players.
This victory marks a recovery for Al Nassr after their unexpected stumble in the previous match
where they drew 1-1 against Al Taawoun. With this win, Al Nassr has now accumulated 32 points,
temporarily climbing to third place in the league standings.
On the other hand, Al Khaleej remains in seventh place with 23 points.
