The loss of China as the fourth largest market for US agricultural exports has put the already weakened sector in danger of further decline, experts warn, despite billions in federal aid already paid and more promised. Chinese companies have stopped buying US agricultural goods, the Commerce Ministry announced on Monday. While farming exports are not that large a portion of the United States’ annual GDP of $20 trillion, China has until recently been its fourth largest market, behind Canada, Mexico, and Japan. Overall, China accounted for $5.9 billion in US agriculture exports in 2018, according to the US Census Bureau. Its loss…
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday claimed that the United States was attempting to starve the Iranian people by tightening economic sanctions against Tehran. “Terrorism is not only an armed attack on citizens, starvation of 82 million Iranians is also a form of terrorism,” Zarif said, aired by the Iranian television. He also added that the United States’ sanctions on Iran forced it to rely on its own people to produce the weapons they needed. In late July, the US Treasury Department sanctioned Zarif as part of its maximum pressure policy on Iran amid escalating tensions between the two countries. The sanctions…
Padraig McGrath, political analyst When the Royal Marines seized the Iranian-owned Grace 1 supertanker off Gibraltar on July 4th, then British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt hailed the seizure as a sign that Iran had “no place to hide.” On July 19th, when the Iranian government retaliated by authorizing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to seize the Swedish-owned, British-registered tanker Stena Impero in Hormuz, Hunt described it as an act of “state-piracy.” Now, at first glance, this looks like just another tedious example of the blatant double-standards which we’ve come to expect from western politicians in relation to non-vassal states, and…

By Mark Taliano The war on Syria is a war against children, and men, and women. It is a war against Christians, and Muslims, and civilization itself. It is a war that seeks to destroy Syria as a functioning state, to balkanize, to loot, to plunder. It is a war that empties Western treasuries, and impoverishes the aggressors, the countries that commit Supreme International War Crimes as policy. The West and its agencies that are perpetrating this holocaust are degrading themselves, and…
