Iran Vows Retaliation Against Israel’s Latest Aggression and Stands with Damascus Against Tel Aviv’s Threats
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, following a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Basam Al-Sabbagh in Tehran, confirmed in a press conference that his country will stand by Syria against Israeli threats.
Araghchi clarified that Iran would not succumb to pressure from the opposing side, calling on others to use rationality instead of a policy of pressure.
“Iran’s political efforts to counter American pressure are ongoing. Despite international and regional efforts to stop the war in Gaza and Lebanon, these have failed to achieve the goal due to American pressure. Our policies in unifying the regional voice against Israel will continue,” Araghchi added.
He stated, “We consider the latest Israeli aggression on our land as a new attack that deserves a response from our side,” emphasizing that they “will not give up our right to respond to the Zionist aggression at the right time and in the appropriate manner.”
Araghchi pointed out that “Israel seeks to expand the circle of war and drag the United States into it,” and noted that “the Zionist entity started the aggressions, and operations Promise of Truth 1 and 2 were defensive.”
He also mentioned a mutual desire to expand relations between the two countries, thanking Syria
for standing with Lebanon and Gaza despite its internal crisis.
“We will stand with Syria against Israeli threats,” Araghchi declared, while expressing his
rejection of the U.S. theft of Syrian wealth. He welcomed the improvement of Damascus’ relations with Arab countries.
On his part, Al-Sabbagh spoke about “positive discussions and fruitful and constructive exchange
of views regarding enhancing cooperation between the two countries in all fields.”
He added, “We reviewed the dangerous developments in our region resulting from the escalating brutal Israeli aggression against regional countries.”
Both ministers agreed on “the urgent and unconditional need to stop this Israeli aggression and
ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.”
