According to the latest data, Russian gold deliveries to Hong Kong soared by 527.1% year on year or by 6.3 times
HONG KONG, November 27. /TASS/. Gold supplies from Russia to Hong Kong set a record for eleven years at the least and skyrocketed by 625.8% in January-October 2023.
They jumped 7.3 times year on year to total 41.42 bln Hong Kong dollars (HKD) (about $5.31 bln), according to TASS estimates based on data from the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department.
According to the latest data, Russian gold deliveries to Hong Kong soared by 527.1% year on year or by 6.3 times to HKD 7.7 bln (about $987.6 mln) in October 2023 alone. This is also the largest figure over the past 11 years (historical data on the Census Department’s website date back only to 2012).
Since spring 2023, Russian gold supplies to Hong Kong have regularly set new records that exceed figures from more than a decade ago. Hong Kong gold imports from Russia totaled HKD 7.54 bln (about $966.2 mln) for all of 2022.
