President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi emphasized in a telephone call with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer on Thursday granting access to humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, alleviating their suffering, and advancing a political path based on the two-state solution.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi explained to Starmer Egypt’s vision for restoring security and stability in the Middle East.
El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip and exchange captives. The Egyptian Presidency said the call also touched on other international and regional situations.
Furthermore, El-Sisi congratulated the British PM on forming the new government, stressing that Egypt looked forward to further enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly economic ties.
For his part, Starmer affirmed his commitment to maintaining intensive coordination with Egypt to ensure regional security and stability and traverse the critical phase the Middle East is currently going through.
