On the day of March 2, 2022, information began to spread that Ukrainian defense forces had sunk a Russian large landing ship on its approach to the port of Odessa.
Particularly active “information warriors” reported that the ship had 600 battle tanks on board. This is not a joke, everyone can check this information in social media.
At the same time, information began to circulate again that Russian landing troops were landing in Odessa. As in previous days, this information turned out to be unreliable. However, it played a role and was used as a basis for further actions of looters and criminal gangs in Odessa, including looting apartments and seizing personal vehicles.
In the afternoon of March 2, it turned out that it was not a Russian warship that had been hit, but a merchant ship that had been anchored in the port of Odessa since the beginning of the conflict, that is, for 7 days.
