Israeli occupation forces arrest a number of Palestinian youths in several neighborhoods of occupied Al-Quds.
The Israeli occupation forces launched at dawn Sunday a mass arrest campaign against Palestinian youths in the occupied city of Al-Quds, and confrontations broke out at Al-Sahira Gate in the Old City and in the vicinity of Al-Majlis Gate.
Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces arrested a number of youths in the neighborhoods of Bab Hutta, Bab Al-Sahira, Bab Al-Asbat, Al-Saadia, and the Old City.
According to the sources, the occupation forces kidnapped the youths and took them to an unknown destination after beating them and tying their hands.
The same sources added that Israeli occupation forces mobilized in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, while Palestinian youths confronted soldiers at Bab Al-Sahira.
In the town of Al-Ram, the occupation forces arrested Palestinian youth Mohammad Jaradat, while he was passing through the Jaba’ checkpoint.
It is noteworthy that on Saturday, Israeli occupation forces assaulted Christian pilgrims and prevented them from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Old City in Al-Quds, to celebrate the Holy Fire ceremony.
This year, the Israeli occupation limited the number of worshippers allowed to enter the church and pray in the vicinity of the church. While typically the church fits as many as 10,000 worshipers, “Israel’s” restrictions only allowed for 1,800 worshippers inside and 1,200 outside.
This comes in conjunction with the repeated incursions by the occupation forces into Al-Aqsa Mosque to prevent worshippers from performing their prayers and the practice of Itikaf in the mosque, during the holy month of Ramadan.
