According to the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, “it is time to stop the monopoly of the big powers to make decisions, as they do not take into account the interests of developing countries.”
Egypt plans to play an active role in the work of BRICS, after it becomes a member of the group in January, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“Egypt looks forward to playing an active role in BRICS to promote the interests and aspirations of the southern nations, which make up about 30% of the global economy,” Shoukry said.
“We live in an interdependent world, and the security of each country depends on the security of all countries,” he said. “The serious consequences of the conflict in Ukraine have proven that we cannot guarantee the stability and security of any country without guaranteeing the security of another country.”
According to the minister, “it is time to stop the monopoly of the big powers to make decisions, as they do not take into account the interests of developing countries.”.
