Israeli air raids have killed at least 256 people, including 20 children, and wounded 1,788 others in less than 24 hours, according to hospitals in Gaza.
A correspondent from the Palestinian WAFA news agency reported that Israeli forces targeted Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood and the Red Crescent’s al-Quds Hospital where hundreds of families took refuge seeking protection from Israeli bombing.
The bombardment also destroyed dozens of homes and residential buildings throughout the Strip, WAFA reported.
It said Nasser and Abu Yousef al-Najjar hospitals in the south are no longer able to help the wounded after they were damaged by the attacks.
