Olaf Scholz spoke to Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz today, according to a statement from the German government.
The pair discussed the latest developments in Gaza and on Israel’s northern border, with Scholz relating his diplomatic efforts to keep the conflict from spreading regionally.
The German chancellor also emphasised to Gantz the need to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza and for Israel to protect civilian life.
