Hundreds of activists and supporters of the Palestinian people yesterday broke into the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) building in Manhattan, New York, in protest of what they said the involvement of some board members in the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
The MoMA museum’s administration closed its doors in response to the takeover of the building by the demonstrators, who expressed their condemnation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and called for the removal of board members who are linked to arms manufacturing companies supplying the Israeli occupation.
Simultaneously, hundreds gathered outside the Brooklyn Museum in New York, advocating for support for Palestinian rights and an end to the Israeli aggression.
Meantime, over 100 cultural sector workers from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, and The Studio released an open letter protesting the silence of these institutions regarding Israel’s ongoing war of genocide on Gaza.
