Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa stated today that the Palestinian government is committed to fulfilling its obligations towards its people under its legal and political mandate. This commitment includes efforts to halt the Israeli aggression, provide relief, restore basic services, and prepare for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, paving the way for freedom and independence.
Speaking at the opening of the third session of the Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum with the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan in Doha, Mustafa emphasized that the Israeli blockade and the use of food, water, healthcare, and humanitarian services as weapons in a genocidal war must be confronted by all means necessary.
Mustafa reiterated that “if the internationally accepted solution is the two-state resolution, then recognition of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders and international legitimacy, must be at the core of this solution.”
He called for intensified efforts to achieve an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza, halt the bloodshed and destruction, and confront the Israeli occupation’s attempts to extinguish hope for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Mustafa emphasized the necessity of empowering the Palestinian government to provide necessary relief and reconstruction efforts, unify national institutions in Gaza and the West Bank, and resume action towards independence and statehood.
