Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mohammad Mustafa Sunday received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon in his office in Ramallah and briefed her on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and the attacks of the occupation army and colonists in the West Bank.
Mustafa also discussed with Fajon the importance of Slovenia’s recognition of the State of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations, as an important step towards achieving peace, ending the occupation, and embodying the establishment of the Palestinian state.
The Prime Minister briefed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia on the government’s plans to strengthen the relief and humanitarian effort in the Gaza Strip, restore basic services in the event of stopping the aggression, and prepare for the reconstruction process, in addition to institutional reform, and achieving stability and economic recovery.
Mustafa discussed with Fajon the government’s plans to be presented at the next donor meeting, which focus on supporting relief efforts for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip in order to meet the basic emergency humanitarian needs in the Strip, mobilize support and enable the government’s agenda and the Palestinian vision for the coming years, most notably the institutional reform program, in addition to supporting the budget to make the government able to fulfill its obligations towards the people.
The Slovenian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of reaching a ceasefire, emphasizing the importance of respecting international humanitarian law and human rights law, continuing to support relief efforts in the Gaza Strip, enhancing cooperation between the two countries, exchanging experiences and strengthening capabilities.
