Senior diplomats from Iran and Oman talked about a range of bilateral and regional affairs at a meeting in Tehran, including the latest developments in Gaza.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held in Tehran on Monday, the caretaker foreign minister of Iran praised the Sultanate of Oman for dispatching a delegation for the funeral of late Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
Oman once again proved to be a cordial and lasting friend of Iran, Ali Baqeri said.
Highlighting the special position of neighbors in the foreign policy of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the caretaker minister said Iran seeks to heal all rifts in its relations with the neighbors and ensure a safe region.
He also noted that discussions have been held with the Omani foreign minister about the Gaza crisis and the Israeli regime’s genocidal crimes in the Palestinian enclave.
Baqeri noted that Iran and Oman have agreed on the need for more serious efforts to end the Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
For his part, Al Busaidi said they have talked about various cases, including cooperation between Tehran and Muscat and the regional issues, above all the Gaza crisis.
Hailing the growing interaction between Oman and Iran, the visiting foreign minister said the two neighbors are cooperating on cultural affairs and within the framework of trade contracts.
