Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was injured in a wireless communication device explosion in Beirut on Tuesday.
According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, cited by Reuters, Amani sustained injuries after a pager device detonated.
Security sources and eyewitnesses reported that hundreds of Hezbollah members in Lebanon were seriously injured when the wireless communication devices they were carrying exploded in southern Beirut. Initial reports indicate that the pagers exploded in areas including southern Beirut, Bekaa in eastern Lebanon, and the southern regions of Nabatieh, Hosh, Bint Jbeil, and Tyre.
