On Sunday evening, Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple locations in Hodeidah, Yemen, which is controlled by the Houthi group. According to Houthi media, these strikes specifically hit oil storage tanks at the Ras Issa port, as well as the Hodeidah port along the Red Sea.
Reports indicate that “Israeli enemy airstrikes targeted the ports of Hodeidah and Ras Issa, as well as the Al-Hali and Al-Kathib power stations.”
Medical sources affiliated with the Houthis revealed that these Israeli airstrikes resulted in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to 29 others, based on initial assessments.
Israeli military spokesman David Abraham stated, “In a large-scale air operation today, dozens of aircraft from the air force, including fighter jets, refueling planes, and reconnaissance aircraft, attacked military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime in the Ras Issa and Hodeidah areas of Yemen.” He further added that the military targeted “power generation stations and a maritime port used for oil imports.”
According to Abraham, the targeted sites are utilized by the Houthis “to transfer Iranian weapons to the region and supply military needs.” He emphasized that the strike was executed in response to recent attacks launched by the Houthi group against Israel.
Social media footage displayed a massive explosion at energy storage facilities in Hodeidah, with Channel 12 reporting the destruction of oil tanks in the area.
