The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center reported a significant rise in casualties from Israeli airstrikes, which have continued since October 8, 2023. As of Friday, the total death toll has reached 3,136, with 13,979 people injured.
In its Saturday daily report, the center noted that Friday alone saw 19 fatalities and 91 injuries. During the last 24 hours, there were 68 airstrikes and bombardments across various Lebanese regions, with 34 targeting Nabatieh and 19 in southern Lebanon, bringing the total attacks to 12,475 since the start of the conflict, according to the government’s Emergency Committee coordinator, caretaker Environment Minister Nasser Yassin.
The report highlighted that the number of displaced persons registered in shelter centers has reached 190,035, with the highest numbers recorded in Mount Lebanon and Beirut. Currently, 1,158 designated shelters have been established, with 989 of them now at full capacity.
Additionally, Lebanon’s General Security Office recorded 372,050 Syrian nationals and 198,521 Lebanese nationals crossing into Syria between September 23 and November 9, underscoring the mass movement of civilians due to escalating conflict.
Since September 23, Israel has launched a series of intensive airstrikes targeting southern, eastern, and parts of Beirut, including the southern suburbs and Mount Lebanon. These attacks were accompanied by a focused ground operation initiated by the Israeli army in southern Lebanon on October 1.
